The theories you’ll find in my book have been in development for over 65 years. And yet, every day I still learn more about horses. What this book is meant to do is to teach you how horses think, why they act the way they do, and what they need from you. It will point you in the direction of true partnership building. However, I must emphasize this book is not just about "being nice to horses", it is about understanding them. By acquiring knowledge of how the horse tries to communicate with you and how you can understand and learn to "talk" even reason with him, you can teach them how to control his reactionary and emotional "prey" intelligence and gradually turn to far more logical and actionable thinking. Each of the 6 sections of the book explore important components in understanding and practicing this training program.

We seek to capture a horse's mind and then his very heart. To enlist their cooperation, and begin training and conditioning their body for a performance purpose. Each section is crucial to the building of a "special" partnership. The journey is not a linear one but a holistic adventure. One that has proven that understanding, respect, and affection will produce amazing horse-and-rider partnerships.

I invite you to travel along with me on a voyage into the equine heart and mind. Consider it a beginning to creating a "special" partnership that will keep both you and your horse safer, sounder, healthier, and happier for a lifetime in each other's company.

For so much of her teen years, Linda Anne was the bronze girl of this statue: saddle on hip, waiting for the next horse to ride. Fittingly, bronze symbolizes loyalty, resilience and reliability–all traits so closely aligned with our Author.
